BI spox says 121 POGO workers deported this 2025

A total of 121 POGO workers out of the 518 arrested this year have been deported, the Bureau of Immigration said Wednesday.
The data was presented by BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval at a Palace press conference.
Sandoval said there would be more batches of deportation in the next few weeks, upon release of the travel documents and receipt of outbound tickets and clearances.
The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission, for its part, said that in the PAOCC custodial facility, a total of 337 foreign nationals are awaiting deportation and/or repatriation.
''They are awaiting such deportation and repatriation in as much as we are also waiting for their legal documents, primarily their one-way travel documents, passports and/or NBI clearances,'' PAOCC spokesman Winston Casio said.
On November 5, 2024, President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. issued an executive order prohibiting Philippine Offshore Gaming, internet gaming, and other offshore gaming operations in the country.
Executive Order No. 74 states that the ban on POGOs and internet gaming licenses shall encompass illegal offshore gaming operations, license applications, license renewals, and cessation of operations. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
