BI intercepts couple with fake Netherlands visas

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) intercepted a couple at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) who allegedly presented counterfeit Netherlands visas.
In a statement on Friday, the BI said the couple attempted to board a flight to Amsterdam when immigration officers flagged their visas as suspicious.
A forensic examination by the BI confirmed the visas were fake, and the couple later admitted to paying P268,000 for their travel arrangements.
“We warn the public against unscrupulous groups offering fake visas. These schemes not only waste hard-earned money but also put travelers at risk of legal consequences,” said BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado.
The couple was turned over to the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) for further investigation. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
