Comelec: Over 9 million ballots printed so far for Eleksyon 2025

Over nine million ballots for the 2025 midterm elections have been printed, a week after printing resumed at the National Printing Office, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said Sunday.

According to Sam Nielsen’s report on Super Radyo dzBB, Comelec chairperson George Erwin Garcia showed that 9,460,780 ballots have been printed in the National Printing Office as of 7 p.m. 

Comelec still needs to produce 62,646,420 ballots to complete the 72.1 million ballots for the 2025 poll.

The poll body aimed to print 1.5 million ballots daily to make up for the shortened time frame for the production of official ballots.

It postponed the printing of ballots following the issuance of the Supreme Court of temporary restraining orders against the disqualification of some aspirants.

Garcia had said Comelec still targets finishing printing of ballots by April 14. The midterm elections will take place on May 12. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BM, GMA Integrated News
