Comelec uploads new ballot faces for 2025 polls
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Sunday uploaded the new ballot faces for the 2025 national and local elections on its website, ahead of its planned resumption of printing on Monday.
Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco confirmed this to GMA News Online through a Viber message.
The new ballot faces contain the 66 senatorial candidates and 156 party-list group candidates, as well as the local candidates running for provincial, municipality and congressional district seats.
The poll body is also set to begin printing the new official ballots for the 2025 elections on Monday.
Comelec postponed the printing of ballots last week following the issuance of the Supreme Court (SC) of fresh temporary restraining orders (TROs) against the disqualification of some aspirants.
Given the shortened time frame for printing official ballots, Comelec aims to produce 1.5 million ballots daily.
The Comelec has deputized the National Printing Office (NPO) to ensure the “proper, satisfactory, and timely” completion of the reprinting of the official ballots.
Despite the delays, Comelec Chairman George Garcia said the 2025 elections will still proceed on schedule on May 12. — BM, GMA Integrated News
