Sara Duterte: INC rally a powerful display of unity, faith

Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday thanked the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) for organizing a nationwide rally that seeks peace for the betterment of the country.

In a message shared by the Office of the Vice President, Duterte said that the INC rally was a “powerful” show of unity and faith.

“Ito ay isang makapangyarihang pagpapakita ng pagkakaisa at pananampalataya na ang tanging hangad lamang ay kapayapaan tungo sa kaunlaran ng ating bansa,” she said.

The religious group has been conducting the National Rally for Peace to express support for President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s stance against impeachment moves against Duterte.

The Vice President, who just returned from a private trip in Japan over the weekend, expressed gratitude for the efforts and care of the INC for the country amid the challenges it currently faces.

“Sa gitna ng tumataas na presyo ng bilihin, kahirapan, at iba pang suliranin, ang isang mapayapa at nagkakaisang Pilipinas ay hindi kailanman matitinag, at paulit-ulit na aahon sa gitna ng hamon ng panahon,” Duterte said.

Malacañang on Monday also expressed hope that the INC rally would bring clarity to the issues that the country faces at present.

Around 1.8 million INC members have joined peace rallies across the country as of Monday noon, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).—RF, GMA Integrated News
