Liza Marcos: Next phase of Pasig River development to be unveiled in February
First Lady Louise ''Liza'' Araneta-Marcos on Thursday said the next phase of the Pasig River development would be unveiled next month.
The First Lady met with concerned officials on the development of the Pasig River, as seen in photos posted on her social media account.
''Fort Santiago, Plaza de Armas, and the Maestranza are slowly coming back to life—and they’re absolutely stunning. Seeing the transformation was nothing short of inspiring!'' Marcos said on Instagram.
''Mark your calendars because the next phase is set to be unveiled in mid-February, and it’s going to be breathtaking!'' she added.
She also thanked the team behind the development project.
The inauguration of Phase 1C of the Pasig River Urban Development Project (PRUDP) was attended by President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. and the First Lady in June last year with the aim to make the Pasig River “look and feel” like famous waterways such as the Seine in Paris and the Thames in London.
Phase 1C involved functional development, which includes pedestrian-friendly infrastructure, commercial zones, and green spaces. It also covers leasable stalls, walkways, bike lanes, and a boardwalk.
The project’s structures were targeted to use renewable energy and promote ecological practices aligned with environmental protection and conservation strategies. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
