Nazareno andas took almost 2 hours to reach Ayala Bridge

Nazareno andas took almost 2 hours to reach Ayala Bridge

The andas or the wheeled carriage that bears the image of Jesus Nazareno took almost two hours before reaching the Ayala Bridge over the Pasig River in Manila during the Traslacion.

Devotees climbing the andas and those who are trying to go near it were the reasons for the slowing down of the procession, according to a report of Mark Makalalad on Super Radyo dzBB.

At the Ayala Bridge, some people were also seen mounting the steel arch bridge to get a glimpse of the Nazareno.

After crossing the Ayala Bridge, the procession turned left to Palanca Street and then right to Quezon Boulevard.

The Manila Police District (MPD) also said earlier that the Traslacion or the procession of the 400-year-old image of Jesus Nazareno has been moving continuously from Quirino Grandstand to the Quiapo Church, but many people are attempting to climb up the andas and causing the slow down. —Giselle Ombay/AOL, GMA Integrated News
