Nazareno devotees flock to Quiapo Church
Millions of devotees are expected to participate in this year's Feast of Jesus Nazareno as the crowd in Quiapo Church already reached over 89,000 early Thursday.
Devotees carried their replicas of the Jesus Nazareno image while attending the mass at the Quiapo Church in Manila on Thursday.
As of 8 a.m., the church said around 20,500 people were observed in the area.
Long lines of devotees who will attend the hourly Mass at Quiapo Church are building up along C. Palanca Street.
An inspection is being conducted at the entrance to Villalobos Street.
Prohibited items including knives and lighters were confiscated from some Nazareno devotees during inspection at the entrance to Villalobos Street.
The Traslacion or the procession of the centuries-old image of Jesus Nazareno officially started at 04:41 a.m. on Thursday. It will be brought from the Quirino Grandstand to its home at Quiapo Church.

TRASLACION 2025: Where is Nazareno by the hour?
Meanwhile, devotees climbing up the andas or carriage bearing the image of Jesus Nazareno are slowing down the procession, according to the Manila Police District.
The procession will go through the streets of Manila and will end at the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno or Quiapo Church.
Last year, around 6.5 million devotees participated in Traslacion that was completed in 14 hours, 59 minutes and 10 seconds.
