PNP-ACG warns vs. fraud account on Telegram

The Philippine National Police's Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) is warning the public against an account on messaging app Telegram purporting to be the ACG and offering the online filing of cases and the return of scammed money.

The PNP-ACG's Facebook post on Monday showed that the fraud account goes by the name "Anti Cyber Crime."

It offers an alleged investment scam starting from P2,000 to P10,000.

The fraud account sends a link to the victim, directing them to create an account to a certain "rajesh." The victim is also directed to send a screenshot of their account to the Anti Cyber Crime Telegram account.

PNP-ACG said that it does not engage in these kinds of transactions.

The PNP-ACG also said it does not accept payments or forward cases to lawyers.

Instead, they urged the public to call or personally visit its office for their concerns.

The public may contact the PNP-ACG at (02) 8723 0401 (loc 7491).

Its office is located beside the PNP LSS Building, Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame, Quezon City. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BM, GMA Integrated News
