1 dead, 2 wounded in Cotabato carnival grenade blast

One person died and two others were wounded after a grenade exploded inside a carnival or perya in Matalam, Cotabato on New Year’s Eve, December 31.

According to a report in Saksi on Wednesday the incident occurred 10 minutes before midnight. The fatality was a farmer who was just passing by the fair who did not make it to the hospital.

Police said someone could have thrown off the grenade, but witnesses failed to identify the suspect as it was dark at the crime scene.
