BOC seizes P1.16 million worth of ecstasy at Port of Clark
The Bureau of Customs (BOC) intercepted a package containing P1.16 million worth of ecstasy at the Port of Clark on December 4.
In a statement released Friday, the BOC reported that the illegal drugs were concealed inside a heating boiler, declared as a “Central Heating Boiler,” shipped from Germany.
Through detailed profiling and K-9 inspection, customs authorities discovered over 2.05 kilograms of the illegal substance.
"Through the continued and collective efforts of our agents, this remarkable success has been achieved. A commendation is both fitting and well-deserved, as this establishes a strong foundation for the years ahead,” said Port of Clark District Collector Jairus Reyes.
BOC Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio also emphasized the agency’s commitment to national security.
“This latest successful interception underscores our determination to safeguard our borders and uphold the safety of our citizens. We remain resolute in collaborating with partner agencies to detect and neutralize threats, such as ecstasy, that jeopardize the well-being of our nation,” Rubio stated.
