Arnie and Henry Teves' father passes away at 77

The father of former Negros Oriental representative Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr.and former governor Pryde Henry Teves passed away at 77 years old, Teves’ camp said Thursday.

Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, Teves’ lawyer, said Arnolfo Teves Sr. passed away on December 24, Tuesday.

In a Facebook post, Henry Teves said his father "is finally coming home to Dumaguete" after two years of waiting.

"Rest in peace, Pops. We love you dearly and will surely miss you," he added.

Arnie Teves, who is facing multiple murder charges in the Philippines for the alleged killing of Negros Oriental governor Roel Degamo and others, is currently in Timor-Leste.

The Timor-Leste Court of Appeal has granted the request of the Philippine government to extradite Teves back to the country.
