AFP unveils ‘Tatag Kapuluan’ campaign on 89th Anniversary
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) introduced its "Tatag Kapuluan" campaign during its 89th founding anniversary celebration on Friday.
AFP chief General Romeo Brawner Jr., in his speech, detailed the campaign's vision and objectives, emphasizing a resilient and secure archipelago through coordinated national efforts.
According to Brawner, Tatag Kapuluan prioritizes strengthening the military’s capacity to protect the country’s borders and enhance disaster response operations.
The AFP chief added that the campaign also stressed the importance of addressing internal security threats and transforming former conflict into hubs for progress and development.
“By eliminating internal threats and transforming former battlegrounds into centers of progress, we will help lay the foundation for a more united and prosperous Philippines,” Brawner said.
Meanwhile, to address geopolitical and environmental challenges, the AFP plans to accelerate its modernization efforts, ensuring that the military remains capable and adaptable.
Brawner concluded by calling for collective efforts, urging Filipinos to embrace unity in tackling national challenges.
“In these times of change and challenges, unity is our greatest strength. Together, we can have a nation built on integrity, resilience, and hope,” he said.
