Comelec to sell 'unserviceable' PCOS machines, paraphernalia

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is set to sell "unserviceable" precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machines and assorted paraphernalia ahead of Eleksyon 2025.

In a memorandum issued Thursday, the Commission en banc adopted the recommendation of the Comelec Disposal Committee (CDC) to sell the unusable PCOS machines, vote counting machine (VCM) plastic bins with covers, ballots boxes, and plastic pallets currently stored in its warehouses in Manila, Las Piñas, and Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

The committee recommended that the PCOS machines be sold to Microsphere System Technology for P12.26 million; and PCOS/VCM plastic bins with covers, yellow metal ballot boxes, and plastic pallets be offered to RHT Storage Center for P202,800.
