P63 million worth of shabu seized from Zambian at NAIA
Authorities seized P63 million worth of shabu from a Zambian at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) reported Thursday.
In a statement, the BOC said the foreigner was nabbed for possession of 9 kilograms of shabu on December 17.
Two vacuum-sealed translucent plastic bags of shabu were discovered inside the foreigner's black suitcase, which was also packed with assorted clothes.
The Zambian and the seized contraband were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
Further investigations will be conducted for possible violations under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
In October, PDEA reported that authorities had seized P49.82 billion worth of illegal drugs under the administration of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. from July 1, 2022 to September 30, 2024. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/ VDV, GMA Integrated News
