Marcos: PH never an agent of escalation in WPS

The Philippines has never been an agent of escalation in the West Philippine Sea, President Ferdinand Marcos “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said on Tuesday. 

This came after Chinese forces launched water cannon attacks and rammed BFAR vessel BRP Datu Pagbuaya, which was on a maritime patrol in the vicinity of Bajo de Masinloc.

The Chinese Embassy in Manila had said Philippine vessels attempted to intrude into Chinese territorial waters off Huangyan Dao, China's name for Bajo de Masinloc or Scarborough Shoal. 

It claimed that CCG forces had acted lawfully to control the situation.

Despite these attacks, Manila will not send warships to the area. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
