Organizers conduct walkthrough of Nazareno 2025 route

In preparation for the Feast of Jesus Nazareno in January next year, organizers conducted Tuesday a walkthrough to ensure the route is safe for the devotees.

According to a Balitanghali report on Wednesday, the organizers checked the route from Quirino Grandstand to the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno in Quiapo.

The organizers also surveyed the area for possible obstacles such as manholes, roadside shops, electric wires, and vehicles.

Around 14,000 police personnel are expected to be deployed in the area.

The technical adviser of the Minor Basilica said there is a possibility that the number of devotees attending the Traslacion will decrease next year compared to this year.

There were also upgrades made on the design of the ‘andas’ or the wheeled carriage bearing the image of the Jesus Nazarene, as well as the rope that usually breaks during the procession.

A key part of the celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene is the procession of the 400-year-old black image of Jesus Christ or Nazareno from Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church.
