Sara Duterte to Marcos: We reached the point of no return

Vice President Sara Duterte on Wednesday said there is no patching things up with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., and that they have reached the  “point of no return.”

“I believe we reached the point of no return and it is clear na [that] they are really going after me,” Duterte told reporters in a press briefing.

“Gusto nila akong tanggalin sa position,” she said.

(They want to remove me from my post.)

Duterte also claimed that House Speaker Martin Romualdez, cousin to Marcos, was eyeing the presidency.

GMA News Online has reached out to Romualdez for comment.

Duterte's press briefing comes days after she declared that she had contracted someone to assassinate President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.—as well as Romualdez and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos—if she were killed, a statement she has since claimed has been "maliciously taken out of context."

Duterte said her remarks were not a threat, and that she only highlighted the alleged threat to her security.

“They can always try na mag-impeachment…They can always gumastos at magwaldas ng pera ng gobyerno para i-impeach ang vice president…Let’s see. If I get impeached, that is my end. Tapos,” she added.

(They can always try to impeach me. They can always spend and waste the government's money to impeach the vice president.)
