Justice Fernanda Peralta takes oath as CA presiding justice
Associate Justice Fernanda Peralta on Monday took her oath of office as presiding justice of the Court of Appeals before President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
Peralta became the appeals court's acting presiding justice in September 2023 following the mandatory retirement of Presiding Justice Remedios Salazar Fernando.
Peralta studied law at San Beda College in Mendiola and Far Eastern University. She became a certified public accountant in 1980 and passed the Bar exams in 1998.
Her husband, retired Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta, was also present during the oathtaking.
Meanwhile, retired Court of Appeals associate justice Danton Bueser has taken his oath as director of the Subic Bay Management Authority (SBMA).
He was earlier appointed by Marcos as a member of the SBMA board of directors, representing the national government.
Bueser retired from the appellate court in 2021.
He also served in the House of Representatives as the congressman of Laguna’s third district from 1998 to 2007.
The SBMA is a government-owned control corporation that manages and regulates the areas covering the Subic Special Economic and Freeport Zone. — Mariel Celine Serquiña and Vince Ferreras/BM/NB, GMA Integrated News
