House QuadComm postpones November 21 drug war hearing
The continuation of the House Quad Committee's investigation into the drug war deaths during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte, initially set for November 21, has been postponed, QuadComm lead chairman Ace Barbers said.
The Surigao del Norte congressman, however, has yet to confirm the reason for the postponement.
In a separate press conference, House Deputy Majority Leader Paolo Ortega V of La Union said House leaders are still deliberating on the date for the next public hearing.
“We are still fixing the date, the members of the QuadComm are still in discussions so as to iron out the fine print for the next hearing,” he said.
It can be recalled that the QuadComm initially announced the postponement of the November 13 hearing amid the ongoing verification of witnesses' testimonies.
That inquiry, however, pushed through to accommodate the presence of Duterte, who flew in all the way from his hometown of Davao City.
During the same November 13 QuadComm probe, the former President offered no apologies for his drug war policy and even dared the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate him for crimes against humanity as soon as possible. — BM, GMA Integrated News
