AFP closes ‘successful’ 2024 joint exercise

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) concluded its annual joint exercise or AFP Joint Exercise (AJEX) “DAGIT-PA” in a ceremony at Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City on Friday.

AFP Vice Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Arthur Cordura, who represented AFP chief General Romeo Brawner Jr. in the event, acknowledged the professionalism and dedication of the participants.

“The successful conclusion of AJEX ‘DAGIT-PA’ reinforces the AFP’s resolve to be agile and responsive in addressing the complex security challenges of the modern age,” he said.

“It is a testament to the AFP's commitment to ensuring the defense and security of our nation and promoting regional peace and stability,” he added.

This year’s joint drills showed combined the capabilities of the AFP in addressing complex security challenges through staff, command post, information war, cyber defense, and field training exercises.

“Among the highlights was the first-ever unilateral training conducted in the West Philippine Sea, which featured a simulated island seizure exercise, amphibious assault operations, and counter-landing exercises,” the AFP said.

“These drills were designed to enhance the AFP’s ability to conduct joint operations across the air, sea, and land domains,” it added.
