BI blocks 4 American suspected pedophiles from entering PH
The Bureau of Immigration on Friday announced that they intercepted four suspected American pedophiles at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in the past three weeks.
The bureau, in a statement, said that the first to be turned away was former American serviceman Henry Glasgow, who was reportedly convicted of child pornography in 2005 and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.
He was intercepted at the NAIA Terminal 3 on October 8.
Sixty-year-old Daniel Clare Rademacher, who was convicted in 2004 for two counts of criminal sexual conduct involving a 15-year-old girl, was turned away at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 on October 9.
On October 12, 29-year-old Khallif Francis Ammen was intercepted at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1. He was convicted of child pornography and possession of lewd materials of an 11-year-old in 2016.
Lastly, 68-year-old Brian William Sanchez was barred from entering the country at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 on November 2. He was convicted of child pornography in 2003.
“They were denied entry after our immigration officers found that they were included in our alert of list of foreigners who have been convicted of sex crimes, mostly against minors, in their home countries,” said BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado.
“They have been placed in our blacklist and banned from re-entering the Philippines for being undesirable aliens,” he added.
Ferdinand Tendenilla, acting chief of the BI's Border Control and Intelligence Unit (BCIU), said the four passengers were already boarded on the next available flight to their point of origin. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/BAP, GMA Integrated News
