Lawyer faces disbarment complaint over slap remark vs. First Lady Liza Marcos

A disbarment complaint has been filed against a lawyer who dared First Lady Liza Marcos to face him so he could slap her.

A Supreme Court official confirmed to GMA News Online Friday that lawyer and university professor Andre de Jesus filed a complaint against lawyer Glenn Chong on Wednesday.

De Jesus said Chong dared the First Lady to face him so he could slap her “back-to-back” during a rally in March.

In a statement, he stressed that lawyers should not be impertinent.

”Hindi dapat tayo bastos, kahit sa ating mga katunggali: sa korte, sa pulitika, o sa buhay. At lalung-lalo na dapat hindi tayo bastos sa kababaihan,” he said.

(We shouldn’t be impertinent, even in our actions in court, in politics, or at home. We especially should not be discourteous to women.)
