VP Sara on ex-Pres Duterte's QuadComm appearance: 'Best Dramatic Actor'
Vice President Sara Duterte said her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, was a “Best Dramatic Actor” during his appearance at the House Quad Comm probe on his administration's war on drugs.
The younger Duterte said Friday her father asked her to rate his performance before the House joint panels last Wednesday and that was her reaction.
She also said she gave him a rating 12 out of 10.
Asked to elaborate, the Vice President said “Kayo na lang umintindi, nakikita ninyo naman sa ginagawa niya eh (It is up for you to understand. You’ve seen what he did).”
During the said QuadComm probe, the former president dared the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate him over drug war deaths so he will not die without being investigated.
The Vice President also explained her presence in the inquiry, saying it was to keep the health of her father in check.
“Pinuntahan ko si former President Duterte kasi usually hindi siya nakikinig sa mga kasama niya. Humihingi sila ng tulong sa akin na pagsabihan. Sinabi noong kasama niya na 6 a.m. pa gising, nagsimula ang araw niya 6 a.m. and mga 10:30 p.m. na yata, sinabi na [sa akin] na baka low blood sugar na kasi hindi kumakain,” the Vice President said.
(I went there since he was not listening to those who are with him. He was up at 6 am, he started his day at 6 a.m. and around 10:30 p.m. I was told his blood sugar might drop since he was not eating.)
“Nagpaalam naman ako na i-excuse siya, pero ayaw niya, pero naniwala naman siya [na i-excuse na dapat siya] nung sinabi namin na kumain na muna siya,” the Vice President added.
(I asked for him to be excused and initially, he did not want to but eventually gave in when we told him he should eat first.)
The elder Duterte was accompanied by his former executive secretary Salvador Medialdea, former chief presidential legal counsel Salvaldor Panelo, former Labor secretary Silvestre Bello III and his counsel, Martin Delgra III.
Duterte was seen having a bite around 5:30 in the afternoon, but immediately went back to answering queries when he was asked by 1-Rider party-list lawmaker Rodge Gutierrez on drug list alongside Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) chief Moro Lazo.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
