Marcos rides train at LRT1 Cavite extension launch
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Friday joined the inaugural ride during the launch of the partial operation of the LRT1 Cavite Extension Phase 1 project.
Before riding the train, Marcos claimed a ticket from the booth, proceeded to the entrance, and swiped his ticket.
Marcos was joined by Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista as well as other department secretaries and senators.
In an ambush interview after riding the train, Marcos said the government should do everything to construct more rail projects for the convenience of commuters
“Sinasabi ko gawin natin ang lahat para madagdagan nang madagdagan dahil makikita naman natin napakalaking bagay, napakalaking mabibigay na ginhawa at mas mabilis, makakapag-save ng time at simple lamang ang pagsakay ng tren,” he said.
(Like what I've saying let's do everything to increase more and more rail projects because as we can see, taking the train is a great convenience because of faster travel, it saves time, and it's simple.)
“Nasanay na rin naman ang mga commuter natin kaya subukan niyo lang itong bagong train line,” he added.
(Our commuters are already used to it so just try this new train line)
Marcos said the partial operation of the LRT1 Cavite extension project will start on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
Phase 1 of the extension project connects Baclaran Station in Pasay City to Dr. Santos Station in Parañaque City through these five new stations:
- Redemptorist-ASEANA Station
- MIA Road Station
- PITX Station
- Ninoy Aquino Avenue Station
- Dr. Santos (formerly Sucat) Station
