Ismael Khan, 1st SC PIO chief, passes away at 89
The first chief of the SC Public Information Office (PIO) has passed away at 89 years old due to a lingering illness, the Supreme Court said Thursday.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), the SC said Atty. Ismael G. Khan Jr. passed away on November 10 and was survived by his wife and four children.

Khan served as assistant court administration and PIO chief from July 1999 to January 2007 under Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr., Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban Jr., and Chief Justice Reynato Puno.
Meanwhile, the SC said Khan was also a recognized authority on labor law and legal ethics.
According to the court, Khan graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Law. He placed sixth in the 1959 Bar Examinations.
