QuadComm drug war probe to push through November 13; Duterte expected to attend
The House Quad Committee (QuadComm) will proceed with its hearing on the Duterte administration's drug war on Wednesday.
“Please be informed that the 11th Joint Public Hearing will proceed tomorrow, Nov. 13, 2024, at 9:30 A.M. at the People's Center Building, House of Representatives, Quezon City,” Dangerous Drugs Committee chairperson Surigao del Norte Representative Robert Ace Barbers said in a notice dated Tuesday.
“Kindly disregard the carlier notice of cancellation regarding this matter,” he added.
The QuadComm previously announced the postponement of the November 13 hearing amid the ongoing verification of witnesses' testimonies.
Former President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to attend Wednesday's hearing.
Duterte’s former spokesperson Salvador Panelo said they will go to Batasang Pambansa on Wednesday to confront the QuadComm about the postponement of the hearing.
“Former President Duterte and I will go to Batasang Pambansa tomorrow at 10 a.m. and confront the Quad Committee members why, after demanding his presence and accepting their invitation, and coming here last night, they will just cancel it without prior notice,” Panelo said.
“He will ask them to schedule a marathon hearing of 10 days,” he added.
