Quiboloy doing well, irregular heartbeat due to active lifestyle — spox
Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy is now doing well after being hospitalized due to chest pains and irregular heartbeat, his spokesperson said Tuesday.
“The Pastor is doing well. He’s just undergoing his annual check-up,” lawyer Kaye Laurente, Quiboloy’s spokesperson, told GMA News Online.
Quiboloy, a detainee at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center, was brought to the Philippine Heart Center in Quezon City last Friday after complaining of chest discomfort the day before.
The PNP said a regional trial court (RTC) in Pasig City ordered the extension of Quiboloy’s stay at the hospital to November 16 to complete the required medical examinations.
Meanwhile, Laurente attributed the incident to Quiboloy’s active lifestyle.
“The irregular heartbeat is likely because he has an athletic heart from his active lifestyle, especially in sports like basketball and golf before his detainment,” she said.
“He is praying and hopeful that he can return to his active lifestyle again soon,” she added.
PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo said that Quiboloy has undergone a CT scan, ultrasound, and x-ray, and stress test, among others.
Fajardo said they are only waiting for the test results.
Meanwhile, Fajardo also clarified that Quiboloy’s condition was not life threatening.
“Again, there is no reason para sa petition nila na mag hospital arrest. Sila mismo, galing sa kanila, na hindi naman pala ito life threatening,” she said.

The court previously dismissed the plea of Quiboloy's camp for his hospital arrest.
Quiboloy is currently facing a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge under Section 4(a) of Republic Act No. 9208, as amended, before a Pasig court.
He is also facing charges under Section 5(b) and Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
