Quiboloy hospitalized due to irregular heartbeat —PNP

Detained Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy was brought to a hospital last week after experiencing chest pains and irregular heartbeat, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Monday.

Quiboloy, a detainee at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame, was brought to the Philippine Heart Center in Quezon City last Friday after complaining about chest discomfort on Thursday, according to the PNP.

“Noong Friday din po, pursuant to a court order issued by RTC Pasig po ay dinala si Apollo Quiboloy at supposedly today by noon ay nakabalik na siya dito sa PNP Custodial Center,” PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo said in a press briefing.

(Last Friday, pursuant to a court order issued by RTC Pasig, Apollo Quiboloy was brought to the hospital and he is supposed to be back to the PNP Custodial Center by noon today.)

Fajardo said a court in Pasig City ordered the extension of Quiboloy’s stay at the hospital to November 16 to complete the required medical examinations.

“However, around 11:09 today, naka-receive po ng email ang PNP Custodial Center ng kopya po ng order ng RTC Pasig extending the medical furlough of Apollo Quiboloy hanggang November 16 ng 5 p.m. para po makumpleto ang mga medical examinations na na-require,” she said.

(However, around 11:09 today, the PNP Custodial Center received an email with a copy of the Pasig RTC order extending the medical furlough of Apollo Quiboloy until November 16 at 5 p.m. to complete the required medical examinations.)

Fajardo said initially the PNP Health Service conducted an examination on Quiboloy and found out that he was suffering from “atrial fibrillation in rapid ventricular response” or “irregular heartbeat” that may be considered as “life-threatening.”

Due to this, Fajardo said the PNP Health Service recommended further checkup on Quiboloy and his camp also filed an urgent petition to take the KOJC leader to the hospital.

“Nag-file po ng petition ang kanyang kampo at ang court ay grinant naman po itong very urgent petition filed by the camp of Apollo Quiboloy,” she said.

(His camp filed a petition and the court granted this very urgent petition.)

The Pasig RTC earlier dismissed the plea of the camp Quiboloy for his hospital arrest.

A self-proclaimed "Son of God," Quiboloy is currently facing a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge under Section 4(a) of Republic Act No. 9208, as amended, before a Pasig court.

He is also facing charges under Section 5(b) and  Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
