DOH denies claims COVID-19 causes death by coagulation in blood
The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday denied claims that Singapore supposedly discovered that the COVID-19 causes human death by coagulation in the blood.
“The Singapore Ministry of Health clarified that this information did not originate from them and referenced similar misleading claims that have appeared in other countries,” the DOH said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the Health Department also denied that COVID-19 exists as a bacterium that was exposed to radiation.
It stressed that the COVID-19 is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
“The DOH advises the public to remain vigilant against misleading COVID-19 information and to seek updates only from legitimate sources and platforms, such as the Department,” the DOH said.
In July, the World Health Organization reported that COVID-19 is still killing around 1,700 people a week around the world.
WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus had urged at-risk populations to keep up with their vaccinations against the disease. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BAP, GMA Integrated News
