NBI: Company driver arrested for selling drugs
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Thursday announced that it has arrested a company driver in Valenzuela City for allegedly selling illegal drugs within the firm's premises.
In a statement, the bureau said the NBI-Dangerous Drugs Division (DDD) conducted a buy-bust operation at Barangay Parada on Oct. 23 in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Philippine National Police, and representatives from the National Prosecution Service.
The operatives caught alias Jay in the act of selling shabu.
According to the NBI, it conducted the operation after the DDD received information that Jay is engaged in selling and use of drugs, particularly shabu, inside the company’s premises.
The company expressed concern that Jay's activities may lead to the proliferation of illegal drugs within the company and compromise the safety and working conditions of its employees.
Meanwhile, the NBI said Jay was presented for inquest for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
