ILBO issued vs. 7 VP Sara Duterte staff — DOJ

ILBO issued vs. 7 VP Sara Duterte staff — DOJ

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has issued an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) against seven officials of the Office of the Vice President (OVP), Justice spokesperson Mico Clavano said Wednesday.

According to Clavano, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla signed the ILBO today and it will immediately be forwarded to the Bureau of Immigration for implementation.

It was issued against Zuleika Lopez, lawyer Lemuel Ortonio, lawyer Rosalynne Sanchez, Gina Acosta, Julieta Villadelrey, Edward Fajarda, and Sunshine Fajarda.

“I would like to reiterate that this ILBO is not a restriction to their travel or their right to travel but merely a monitoring mechanism by which we can see kung lumabas po sila sa bansa o pumasok (if they left or entered),” he said in an ambush interview.

This came after House committee on good government and public accountability chairperson Joel Chua asked the DOJ to issue an ILBO against the officials.

Chua said they received information that the officials may leave the country amid the ongoing inquiry into the OVP’s use of its budget, including confidential funds.

The DOJ spokesperson clarified that the lookout bulletin does not order the OVP officials to attend the congressional inquiry.

“It does not by any stretch of the imagination force them to attend a particular hearing, whether it be in the Congress, Senate, or in court,” Clavano said.

Meanwhile, he said the House may also request information regarding their travel.

“The information usually is internal to us here in the DOJ. However, if they would like to request for any information regarding the travel of any of those that are listed in the ILBO then they can,” Clavano said.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
