BI: 167k travelers processed on Oct. 31, Nov. 1 amid Undas break
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Saturday it processed 167,538 passengers on October 31 and November 1, All Saints' Day.
This marked a 12% increase in international travelers from 149,257 passengers recorded in the same period last year.
On October 31, BI tallied 41,078 arrivals and 43,341 departures across the country.
The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 logged 14,010 arrivals and 15,666 departures, while Terminal 3 posted the highest volume with 19,223 arrivals and 20,495 departures.
On November 1, the BI said there were 42,858 arrivals and 40,261 departures.
NAIA Terminal 1 recorded 14,931 arrivals and 13,381 departures, while Terminal 3 handled 19,136 arrivals and 19,431 departures.
The BI has augmented its personnel at airports and promoted the use of electronic gates at the arrival areas to reduce queuing times for travelers this peak season. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
