Marcos defends Naga visit: 'Ang bagyo hindi nangingilala ng eleksyon'
President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. on Friday said his visit to areas hit by tropical cyclones has nothing to do with the election.
In his vlog, Marcos reacted to those who noticed that he went to Naga City, bailiwick of former Vice President Leni Robredo and his opponent in Eleksyon 2022, following the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine,
''Eh nandoon ang bagyo. Ang bagyo hindi nangingilala ng eleksyon. Kaya kung saan na may problema, kung saan ang nangangailangan ng tulong ay doon tayo pupunta,'' Marcos said.
(It was hit by the typhoon and typhoon knows no election. We will go where the problem is, where our help is needed.)
Marcos visited Naga City last Saturday and provided P80 million worth of financial aid to the local governments of the city and Albay following the onslaught of Kristine. He vowed that the government would also provide additional medical manpower in the Bicol Region.
The President also wants to revisit the Bicol River Basin Development Program (BRBDP), a project of his late father Ferdinand Marcos Sr. in 1973, following the devastation brought by Kristine in the region.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
