VP Sara calls for prayer amid presence of evil, corrupt, personal interest
Vice President Sara Duterte on All Saints' Day called on Filipinos to pray for peace and stability of the country amid "challenges from evil, injustice, and the personal interests of some."
Duterte made the remark as she reminded the public to pray for the souls of the departed and to remember the holiness of the saints.
"Idulog natin sa kanila ang ating mga pangamba at manalangin tayo na maibsan sana ang bigat ng ating mga pasanin sa buhay," the Vice President said in a statement.
(Let's entrust our fears to them and pray that our burdens in life may be alleviated.)
"Sama-sama rin nating ipagdasal ang kapayapaan at katatagan ng ating bansa sa harap ng mga hamon ng kasamaan, katiwalian, at mga pansariling interes para sa yaman at kapangyarihan ng ilan," she added.
(Let's pray together for the peace and stability of our country in the face of challenges from evil, injustice, and the personal interests of some for wealth and power.)
This was the latest remark that Duterte released following her recent press conference where she threw fiery statements against her 2022 running-mate and now President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
The press conference was held amid the Marcos-allied House of Representatives' investigation into Duterte's use of confidential and intelligence funds in the previous years, and the Quad Committee's probe into alleged extrajudicial killings during the administration of her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte.
