Bongbong visits Marcos Sr. at Libingan Ng Mga Bayani
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. visited the tomb of his father, the late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., at the Libingan Ng Mga Bayani on All Saints’ Day.
Marcos visited the tomb of the former president together with former First Lady Imelda Marcos.
A Mass was also held for the former president.
In his message, Marcos expressed gratitude to those individuals who continue to remember and honor his father.
''Kaya’t naman mas naging makabuluhan ang aming Undas dahil sa inyong pagdating. At lalong-lalo na dahil nararamdaman namin na mula sa inyo ang pagmamahal ninyo sa aking ama at sa pag-alala sa aking ama. Maraming, maraming salamat sa inyong lahat,'' Marcos said.
(Our All Saints' Day became more meaningful because of your presence and because we feel your love for my father. Thank you very much.)
A prayer for the nation, written by the elder Marcos, was also read during the Mass.
Marcos vowed to continue his father’s legacy by working to drive the development of the country as well as to improve the living condition of Filipinos. He said that as a young child, he observed the good leadership qualities of his father.
''Para mag-rest in peace ang aking ama, kailangan ipagpatuloy natin ang trabahong sinimulan niya, ipagpatuloy natin ang pagpaganda ng Pilipinas, at ang pagmamahal sa Pilipino,'' Marcos said.
(So that my father could rest in peace, we need to continue the job that he had started, we will continue to develop the Philippines as well as continue to love Filipinos.) — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
