Marcos leads turn over of 90 ambulances to Visayas provinces
President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. on Wednesday led the turnover of 90 Patient Transport Vehicles (PTVs) to various local government units as part of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office's medical transport vehicle donation program.
This was done during a ceremony at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila City. The said patient vehicles will be allocated to 90 mayors hailing from the provinces of Cebu, Bohol, Negros Occidental, and Northern Samar.
In his speech, Marcos urged LGUs to cautiously utilize the PTVs.
''Matibay naman itong mga ito, basta’t alagaan natin nang mabuti. Ang maganda rito sa pagpili namin ng modelong ito, madaming piyesa ito, madaling ayusin, kahit saan ay makakahanap kayo. Kahit sinong mekaniko kayang ayusin itong mga emergency vehicle na ito,'' he said.
Marcos said those areas outside big cities badly need these PTVs for transporting patients and even other medical needs.
The turnover ceremony coincides with PCSO’s 90th anniversary and marks the first observance of the National Day of Charity, which was established through Proclamation No. 598 which was signed on June 13, 2024.
Just last month, Marcos also led the turnover ceremony of the 51 PTVs to local government unit beneficiaries in Region VI and the Negros Island Region.
