FL Liza pushes for women's role in promoting peace, security
First Lady Louise ''Liza'' Araneta-Marcos highlighted the vital role of women when it comes to promoting peace and security in society at the International Conference on Women, Peace, and Security which was hosted by the Philippines.
''Am truly proud that our country is hosting all these inspiring leaders from 84 countries across 6 regions for the first international conference in Southeast Asia,'' Marcos said in a social media post on Monday night.
The said conference aims to address the enforcement of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325, which reaffirms the important role of women in the prevention and resolution of conflicts, peace negotiations, peacebuilding, peacekeeping, humanitarian response, and post-conflict reconstruction.
The discussions at the International Conference on Women, Peace & Security began with a shared mission: the significant role of women in advancing peace and security '' said Marcos.
With the theme “Forging Collaboration and Convergence for Advancing Women, Peace, and Security,'' the conference serves as a testament to the country's relentless pursuit of mainstream gender responsiveness in its systems.
