LIVEBLOG: Senate blue ribbon committee starts probe into Duterte admin's drug war

The Senate blue ribbon committee has scheduled the start of its investigation into the Duterte administration's war on drugs on Monday, October 28.

Senate Minority Leader Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III on Saturday said the hearing will push through whether or not former President Rodrigo Duterte will attend.

Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa meanwhile reiterated on Saturday that Duterte will show up on Monday for the hearing at the Senate.

Dela Rosa and Senator Bong Go had earlier asked the Senate to conduct the probe to be done parallel to the House Quad Committee (QuadComm) investigation.

Government records show that there were at least 6,200 drug suspects killed in police operations from June 2016 to November 2021, but several human rights groups have refuted this and say that the number may have reached as much as 30,000 due to unreported related killings.

Below are the latest updates regarding the Senate hearing scheduled on Monday, October 28.
