COA, World Bank seeks stronger collab on enhancing accountability processes
State auditors and the World Bank are eyeing to strengthen their collaboration on enhancing accountability processes in government, the Commission on Audit (COA) said Friday.
COA and the World Bank are also seeking to improve the audit of World Bank-funded projects and boost internal audit functions across government, among others.
According to the commission, COA Chairperson Gamaliel Cordoba and other officials met with World Bank senior financial management specialists, led by Patrick Piker Umah Tete, on Wednesday.
Cordoba said he was looking forward to stronger collaboration, especially on digitalization in the conduct of audits.
For its part, COA said the World Bank expressed its wish to re-engage with the commission to see how the Citizen Participatory Audit program has evolved.—Joahna Lei Casilao/AOL, GMA Integrated News
