LIST: Transmission lines down due to Kristine — NGCP


Several power transmission infrastructure were rendered unavailable as Severe Tropical Storm Kristine continues to hit areas in Luzon and the Visayas, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said Thursday.

The NGCP said the following transmission lines are unavailable:

Luzon

  • Calaca-Balayan-Nasugbu/Calatagan 69kV line

           Date/Time out: October 24, 2024/1:26 p.m.

           Customer affected: BATELEC I

  • Batangas-Mabini-Cuenca 69kV line

           Date/Time Out: October 23, 2024/11:23 p.m.

           Customer affected: BATELEC II

  • Naga-Iriga 69kV Line (partially energized)

           Date/Time Out: October 22, 2024/9:39 p.m.

           Customer affected: CASURECO III

  • Tiwi C-Pawa 69kV Line

           Date/Time Out: October 22, 2024/10:40 p.m.

           Customer affected: ALECO

  • Batangas-Taysan 69kV Line

          Date/Time Out: October 24, 2024/5:49 a.m.

          Customer affected: BATELEC II

  • Bay-PGI/Calamba 69kV Line

           Date/Time Out: October 24, 2024/3:48 a.m.

           Customer affected: BATELEC II

  • Lumban-Caliraya 69kV Line

           Date/Time Out: October 24, 2024/4:20 a.m.

           Customer affected: FLECO

Visayas

  • Paranas - Quinapondan 69kV Line (partially energized)

          Date/Time Out: October 22, 2024 / 12:55 a.m.

          Customer affected: ESAMELCO

  • Ormoc-San Isidro 69kV Line (partially energized)

           Date/Time Out: October 23, 2024 / 4:21 p.m.

           Customer affected: DORELCO

Meanwhile, the NGCP said the following transmission line has been restored:

Luzon

  • Labrador-San Carlos 69kV line

           Date/Time Out: October 24, 2024/7:39 a.m.

           Date/Time In: October 24, 2024/ 9:20 a.m.

           Customer affected: parts of CENPELCO

The grid operator said it has mobilized its line crews and is currently conducting patrols.

“Simultaneous restoration activities are also being conducted in areas already accessible,” it said.

“Please note that this update pertains only to the status of the transmission network,” it added.

The NGCP said localized disturbances may be better addressed by your distribution utility.

“This also does not include lines exclusively serving directly connected industrial customers,” it said.

“Specific cities and municipalities affected by the unavailable transmission facility are determined by concerned Distribution Utilities, unless the outage affects the entire franchise area,” the grid operator said. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
