House suspends work on Oct. 23 due to Kristine

Work at the House of Representatives has been suspended on Wednesday, October 23, in light of the inclement weather caused by Tropical Storm Kristine.

In an advisory, House Secretary General Reginald Velasco also advised all House personnel to stay safe.

"Only essential personnel as determined by their respective Deputy Secretaries General or the Sergeant-at-Arms shall render service," the advisory read.

On Tuesday evening, Malacañang announced the suspension of government work and classes at all levels in the entire Luzon on Wednesday in anticipation of the effects of Tropical Storm Kristine.

The directive was upon the recommendation of the Office of Civil Defense and the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
