VP Sara bares imagining 'cutting off' Marcos' head as relationship turns 'toxic'

Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday said she realized that her relationship with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. had become "toxic" when she started having thoughts about "cutting his head," according to a "24 Oras" report by Ian Cruz.

"I imagine myself cutting his head. So noon, narealize ko toxic na di ba, ganyan na 'yung imagination mo, sinasakal mo na yung tao. (That's the time I realized it has become toxic, that's how I'm imagining things, that I'm strangling him). Then I said this is over," Duterte said during an interview with the media.

Duterte recalled attending a graduation ceremony with Marcos where she heard the President's conversation with a student.

"Sabi nung graduate, (The graduates said) Mr. President can I have your watch as a graduation gift? Ang sagot niya (He replied), why, why would I give you my watch?" Duterte narrated.

"At that point may sakit na ako, gusto kong tanggalin yung ulo niya. It did not help na itong dalawang katabi ko tumawa pa. Pinagtawanan pa nila yung bata," she added.

(I was sick then, and I felt like cutting off his head.  It did not help that the two persons sitting beside me laughed at the kid.)

She said she could not help but feel bad for the graduate. If she could, she'd give her watch but added, "kaya lang, hindi naman ito relo ng presidente, pang bise presidente lang."  (This is not the President's watch, only that of the Vice President's.)

During the media interview, Duterte accused Marcos of not knowing how to rule a country — her latest tirade against her running-mate in the 2022 elections.

"Hindi marunong maging Presidente ang nakaupo, Kasalanan ko ba iyon (The one sitting doesn't know how to rule. Is it my fault)?" Duterte categorically said at a press conference in Mandaluyong City.

Asked to rate Marcos’ performance as the country’s chief executive from 1 to 10 with 10 the highest, Dutere said, "One ang rating ko sa kanya (My rating is 1).”

She noted that Marcos seems to have no plans to address food security and inflation.

"Nagkakausap lang kami dahil sa trabaho, hindi naman lahat ng katrabaho natin kaibigan natin, di ba?" the VP stressed when asked about her friendship with Marcos.

Duterte also said that she has a list of the impeachable offenses done by the President.

"Si BBM, may listahan ako ng limang bagay na may limang impeachable offense na... pero sa tingin niyo papasa diyan sa House, of course hindi," said Duterte.
