Marcos happy with 'political reconciliation' with Leni

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Friday expressed elation over what seems to be a "political reconciliation" between him and former Vice President Leni Robredo.

In his pleasantries during his speech at the signing of the ARAL Law, Marcos, while recognizing Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero, said he is happy with what the latter did.

“Senate President Chiz Escudero, who has taken a very important step towards political reconciliation yesterday… Well done. I'm so happy you did that,” a smiling Marcos said.

Escudero was the one who invited Robredo to welcome the President at the inauguration of the Sorsogon Sports Arena.

The two, who were rivals in the 2016 and 2022 polls, met and briefly shook hands before the start of the event.

Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez said the ''political reconciliation'' was a reiteration of the President's call for unity.

''It's always been our President's message to the country that we always must unite. that Filipinos should always be as one,'' Romualdez said in a chance interview.
