Marcos appoints Dante Ang II as chair of Commission on Filipinos Overseas

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. has appointed Dante Francis Mariano Ang II as chairperson of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas.
Presidential Communications Office Acting Secretary Cesar Chavez confirmed this to Palace reporters on Friday morning.
Dated and signed by the President on October 16, 2024, the appointment letter indicated that Ang would replace Romulo V. Arugay.
Ang II is the chairman and CEO of The Manila Times. He is also serving as the vice chairman and acting dean of The Manila Times College.
The Commission on Filipinos Overseas is an agency under the Office of the President and one of the several migrant-serving agencies, which has been providing pre-departure services to our Filipino emigrants, marriage migrants, US Exchange Visitor Program participants, and au pairs.
Its clientele are mostly bound for the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, Italy, New Zealand, South Korea, United Kingdom, Spain, and Germany.
The said Commission has a myriad of programs that aim to honor overseas Filipinos, and strengthen ties with the Filipino communities overseas.
