Alice Guo doesn't know alleged POGO big boss Lin Xunhan —lawyer

Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo does not know Lin Xunhan, the alleged “big boss” of illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) in the country, according to her lawyer on Tuesday.

“Wala. Hindi niya kilala. Sabi niya sa akin hindi niya kilala,” Guo’s lawyer Atty. Stephen David told GMA Integrated News’ Unang Balita in an interview when asked if his client mentioned Lin.

(Nothing. She doesn't know him. She told me she didn't know him.)

“Unang-una, wala naman siyang ano sa POGO kundi 'yun nga lang kasama niya si Huang Zhiyang. 'Yun lang naman ang kilala niya doon na bumili ng mga lupa niya doon,” he added.

(First of all, she didn't have anything to do with POGO except for Huang Zhiyang. He was the only person she knew there who bought properties from her.)

The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) earlier said it is looking into whether Lin was among the persons Guo refused to name in congressional hearings because he was still in the country.

“Ang madalas naman kasi na binabanggit ni Alice sa mga hearings, ito ‘yung mga wala na sa atin, ‘yung mga nasa abroad,” PAOCC executive director Gilbert Cruz said.

(The names Alice frequently brings up during the hearings are individuals who are no longer here in the Philippines, the ones who are already abroad.)

Lin, also known as Lyu Dong, Boss Boga, Boss Apao, or Boss Bahaw, was arrested at a residential subdivision in Laguna on October 10.

One of the individuals who formerly worked for Lin saw Guo transacting with their boss. The witness said they knew Guo as “Madam Wah.”

Guo’s lawyer also denied the allegations.

“Well syempre, naiinis siya. Una-una, wala naman katotohanan 'yung ganyang mga allegations na 'yan. Maganda 'yan, nahuli naman yata 'yung sinasabi na tao na 'yan, matanong natin, ma-cross exam natin kung saan nanggagaling itong sinasabi niya,” David said.

(Well of course, she was annoyed. First of all, there is no truth to such allegations. I think the person saying that was already caught so we can cross-examine that person to know the source of the information.)

Guo is facing a qualified human trafficking case before a Pasig court as well as a graft case before a Valenzuela court.

A quo warranto petition was also filed against Guo with a Manila court, as well as a petition to cancel her birth certificate before a Tarlac court.

She is also facing a tax evasion complaint, 87 counts for money laundering, and a perjury and falsification complaint before the DOJ.
