NAIA Terminal 4 to be closed for renovation starting Nov. 6

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s (NAIA) oldest and smallest passenger terminal will be undergoing major renovation next month, with all of the flights to and from Terminal 4 to be transferred to another terminal, private operator New NAIA Infrastructure Corporation (NNIC) announced Saturday.

In an advisory, NNIC said NAIA Terminal is scheduled for renovation beginning November 6, 2024 “to address its aging infrastructure and improve overall passenger experience.”

“The renovated terminal is expected to reopen in February 2025,” the company said.

NNIC said it will prioritize safety upgrades while also improving passenger flow and modernizing facilities.

Terminal 4 currently serves AirSWIFT with 12 daily flights, Sunlight Air with two daily flights, and CebGo with 36 daily flights.

“During the renovation, all airlines currently operating out of Terminal 4 will temporarily relocate to Terminal 2,” NNIC said.

CebGo and AirSwift have earlier announced the transfer of their flights to Terminal 2. 

“On average, Terminal 4 handles approximately 2,900 passengers each day — 1,400 arriving and 1,500 departing — representing 2.23% of NAIA’s total daily passenger volume,” NNIC said.

The NAIA operator said it is now coordinating closely with the affected airlines to ensure a smooth transition and minimize any disruptions for passengers.

“Our goal is to make Terminal 4 more comfortable and efficient for travelers. While there may be some temporary disruptions, we appreciate the public’s understanding and patience as we work to deliver these much-needed improvements,” NNIC said.

The company urged passengers to check with their respective airlines for their updated flight schedules.
