Marcos back in PH from ASEAN Summits

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is back in Manila after participating in this year’s ASEAN Summit and Related Summits.

The presidential plane landed at the Villamor Air Base at 10:23 p.m. on Friday.

Marcos said the discussions among ASEAN leaders were not just about the challenges they face individually, but those that were equally important about their shared commitment to finding enduring solutions that would “safeguard our collective future.”

Marcos said he also engaged with ASEAN’s business sectors to invite them to invest in the Philippines.

The ASEAN leaders also tackled significant international issues and emerging challenges that not only impact the country, but also the entire region, particularly the West Philippine Sea.

Marcos thanked Lao PDR, the chair of ASEAN this year, for its successful hosting of the Summit and Related Summits.

He said he also looks forward to Malaysia’s leadership as they host ASEAN in 2025.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
