Public warned vs. fake GMA News Online article

A fake news article made to look like one posted on GMA News Online has been shared over the internet.

The article showed the homepage of GMA News Online with its logo on the upper left and a photo of handcuffed financial advisor and life coach Chinkee Tan in the center.

"Chinkee Tan didn't know the microphone was on, we say goodbye to him forever," the title of the fake news read.

"This is a sad day for all of the Philippines," it added. 

The URL of the article page is not that of the GMA Network, Inc. nor GMA News Online.

With this, the public is warned against such articles posing as those belonging to the network's digital assets.
