Bong Revilla seeks reelection as senator in Eleksyon 2025

Incumbent Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla on Monday formalized his senatorial reelection bid in the 2025 Midterm Elections.

“We have accomplished so much but work never ceases and there is much to be done kasama diyan ang tugon sa pagtaas ng presyo ng mga bilihin, mga program sa pagsasaka at mga mangingisda para pag-angat ng agrikultura,” Revilla said after filing his certificate of candidacy (COC) at the Manila Hotel Tent City.

(We have accomplished so much but work never ceases and there is much to be done including addressing the increase in prices of basic goods and programs for farmers and fisherfolk to help improve the agricultural sector.)

He added that he would also work on flood mitigation, a new Philippine Building Code, and lowering of the retirement age for government employees, among others.

Revilla is running as senator under the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD).

He noted that 339 of the measures he filed were enacted into law.

Among the measures that Revilla filed and were enacted into law are the Kabalikat Sa Pagtuturo Act; Expanded Centenarians Act; No Permit, No Exam Prohibitions Act, and Life-Time Validity of Birth, Marriage, and Death Certifications Act.

In 2021, the Sandiganbayan cleared Revilla of 16 counts of graft in connection with the P10-billion Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or pork barrel scam.

He was accused of diverting his pork barrel and giving unwarranted benefit to bogus non-government organizations (NGOs) linked to Napoles to receive kickbacks.

Revilla first won as senator in 2004.
